History

Development of the 5 Points area began in the late 19th century as a northern suburb of downtown Asheville. Most of the houses were built before 1920, some designed by significant architects of the era. Notable Asheville businessman and benefactor George W. Pack built his home called “Manyoaks” on the current site of Harris Teeter grocery store.
