SAVE THE DATE: April 30 – 5 Points Annual Spring Clean-up
Sat, Apr 30, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Various locations throughout 5 Points
Come join in the 5 Points Annual Spring Clean-up—held in conjunction with the Great Asheville Buncombe Cleanup—on Saturday, April 30th, from 9 a.m. to Noon. Last year Dan Kenney did an awesome job of coordinating our 5 Points Neighborhood Clean-up. Twenty-six volunteers collected 19 bags of trash, 2 bags of recycling and one tire. Also, 8 bags of leaves from sidewalks were composted in a volunteer’s yard.

I’ll be the overall coordinator this year and am reaching out for volunteers to be site coordinators and to help with the clean-up. Site coordinators need to be available from 9 a.m. to Noon for clean-up volunteers to pick-up bags, gloves and safety vests. I will be picking up the materials from Greenworks on Monday, April 25th. If anyone wants to start early, maybe organize an after work clean up, just let me know.

If you want to volunteer, please contact me by replying to this post, or by sending me an email at vicepresident@5pointsasheville.org.

Everyone had a fun time last year, so I hope you will join in. And we can celebrate in the evening by coming together for the 5 Points Spring Bash at 117 Hillside Street.

We are working with the City of Asheville to bring positive change to our neighborhood.  From an all-way stop sign at Mount Clare and Woodrow, to significant intersection improvements on E Chestnut at Maxwell, change is starting to be seen!  We are also hopefull for no thru traffic signage, speed limit reductions and traffic calming devices. We are trying to save our streets from the influx of all the new traffic from the new developments on Merrimon Ave.   We need more stop signs too…the list goes on!

Signs are just $8.00 – just fill out a request on our Contact page, and we will deliver one to your yard.
